About AVAF

Born anytime between the 20th and 21st century in various parts of the world, nomads, AVAF is the combined name for the New York based Brazilian artist Eli Sudbrack and his ongoing 21st century aesthetic research project. AVAF is splashing in the interstices between art and entertainment, converting these gaps into mental pools of sensorial joy and/or sensorial pools of mental joy. The screening programme is a compilation of Assume Vivid Astro Focus' video work.

AVAF is included in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art, New York and the Judith Rothschild Foundation Contemporary Drawing Collection. AVAF has been featured in ArtForum, Modern Painters, Art In America, Art:Review, Tema Celeste, Arte, Art Nexus, The New York Times, Frieze, Flash Art, L'Uomo Vogue, V Magazine, Tokion, Vogue Homme, W Magazine, and a catalogue was published by the Whitney Museum of American Art for the 2004 Whitney Biennial.

VIDOS - world release

On Friday Nov 28 Cimatics presents the world-release of the VIDOS DVD. This release with videos to the music of ex-Funkstörung Michael Fakesch' album DOS will be part of the screening program and there will be a special dj/live concert by Michael Fakesch himself.

TRANSMEDIALE screenings

In collaboration with Transmediale festival Berlin we present a 'best of' of the screening programme as selected for Transmediale 2008. The selection presents work by Semiconductor, Xu Tan, Michelle Deignan and many others.
