About the panel discussion

The main topic 'post-VJ live' is deliberately chosen to be broad and generic. With this we aim at an open discussion: artists performing at the festival such as Mia Makela and Rosa Menkman (and many others) will join in to talk about their experience and ideas about digital and audiovisual culture in the 'post-VJ era', but also visitors are challenged to intervene. How is VJing reflected in todays practice of live audiovisual performance? What are it's merits? Which models can be used to deal with this still strange, intriguing and often awkward practice, and how do possible future practices function and look like?
The panel discussion will be conducted through the physical presence of Brendan Byrne and the virtual presence of Ana Carvalho, founding fathers of VJ Theory.
